The Old Fashioned was born as the original 1806 "cocktail"—a simple elixir of spirits, sugar, and bitters. This historic build pairs Old Fitzgerald 7 Year Bottled-in-Bond, a wheated bourbon rooted in the Stitzel-Weller tradition, with rich demerara syrup and Sirene China Calisaia Bitters. Crafted with cinchona bark, Sirene mirrors 19th-century "stomach bitters," bringing medicinal tannins and a smoky, crimson profile. Angostura's demerara syrup recreates the raw molasses weight of early saloons, complementing Old Fitz's notes of honey, cherry, and baking spice. Together, they bridge 19th-century origins with modern craft precision for a clean, spirit-driven Old Fashioned. Cheers!
